At Lucie Campbell our engagement rings come with an independent diamond grading certificate from a recognised Gem testing laboratory, such as the G.I.A in New York. We highly recommend that you only purchase diamonds that come with such a report. Purchasing a piece of jewellery with a recognised report gives you extra peace of mind regarding the authenticity of your purchase. It is also reassures that what you are being told is not just the Jewellers 'opinion' of that stone.
The diamond grading report not only gives precise dimensions of the stone, but for diamonds larger than 1ct, it shows a map of where the internal flaws in the diamond are. As well as the colour and clarity being graded, the polish and symmetry are also graded on the report. These are very important attributes to the brilliance of a diamond.
Our larger precious coloured stones also come with a report, though these stones are graded slightly differently to diamonds.
Smaller diamonds do not usually come with a certificate, but please be assured that only a certain quality of stone, however small, is used in all of our pieces.
It is important to retain the certificate and you will need to provide a copy to your insurance company.

Should you wish to have your jewellery polished it can be given to our workshop for this to be done. Prices start from £75 + Vat.
Should you wish to clean your jewellery at home we always recommend to our customers that they use only a soft bristled toothbrush and warm water with washing up liquid. Carefully brush the jewellery at the front but especially from behind, removing all dirt.

Clean your platinum jewellery periodically. This will help ensure its fine appearance and will help it last.
Have your platinum jewellery professionally cleaned once in a while.
Be aware that, over time, platinum develops a natural patina that many people prefer over the 'just polished' appearance. When this happens, please feel free to bring your jewellery to us to have it re-polished to a high gloss look. There is a small charge for this. Prices start from £75 + Vat.
Do not leave your platinum jewellery on when doing home cleaning, gardening and other heavy work. Platinum is durable but can bend.

We are happy only to offer you stones that we ourselves would wish to have in one of our beautiful rings. We would be as selective in finding your perfect diamond, as we are in selecting our stones for stock.

It retains its whiteness better than white gold. White gold jewellery is often rhodium plated. Over time the rhodium will wear off, leaving the jewellery appearing yellow.
